Deskie ("Deskie", "we", "us") provides an AI voice receptionist and CRM for businesses. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it — for business owners who use Deskie, and for callers whose calls a Deskie receptionist answers.
What we collect
Account data. You sign in with Google. We receive your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account. We never see your Google password.
Business data. The information you add to configure your receptionist: business name, services, working hours, FAQs, team details, phone numbers, and similar profile content.
Call data. When your AI receptionist handles a call or a web voice session, we process the caller's audio in real time and store call transcripts, call metadata (caller phone number, duration, time), and — on plans where you enable it — call recordings. Leads, appointments and notes captured during calls are stored in your CRM.
Payments. Subscriptions are processed by Gumroad. Card and payment details go directly to Gumroad — Deskie never receives or stores them. We receive confirmation of your purchase (your email, plan, and a license reference) to activate your subscription.
Usage analytics. We use PostHog to understand how the product is used (pages viewed, features clicked, approximate region). This helps us improve Deskie. We do not sell analytics data.
Cookies & local storage. We use them to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as your country/region and currency.
How calls are processed
Caller audio is streamed to Google's Gemini API to generate the AI receptionist's responses in real time. Telephone calls are carried by our telephony partners (such as Twilio, Exotel, or Telnyx) depending on your region and number. These providers process call audio and phone numbers as part of delivering the call.
If you are a business using Deskie: you are responsible for complying with the call-recording and consent laws that apply to your business and your callers' locations, including informing callers that they are speaking with an AI assistant and/or being recorded where required.
Where your data lives
Application data (accounts, business profiles, transcripts, CRM records) is stored with Supabase (hosted on managed cloud infrastructure). Our application runs on Vercel and Render.
How we use data
- To provide the service: answer calls, book appointments, capture leads.
- To operate your account, subscription and billing.
- To improve the product through aggregate usage analytics.
- To communicate with you about your account or the service.
We do not sell your data or your callers' data. We share data only with the processors listed above, and only as needed to run the service.
Retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete leads, calls and other records from your dashboard at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, email us and we will complete the deletion within 30 days. Callers may request deletion of their call data through the business they called or by contacting us directly.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/WSS) and at rest by our storage providers. Access to production data is limited to what is necessary to operate the service.
Children
Deskie is a business tool and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
